A friendly one. We’re open, approachable and all embracing. We make time to support each other. Asking questions is actively encouraged, and everyone’s happy to make time to answer them. For us, you’re an individual, not a member of the ranks.
The Deutsche Bank Graduate Programme is a year-long comprehensive programme designed to provide you with exposure to a range of fascinating projects and ongoing professional and technical training to develop the skills you need to grow your career. You’ll feel supported by a network of peers and mentors and benefit from our global wellbeing programme. All our graduates benefit from a continuous development program in their first year, which focusses on their ongoing professional skills.
We’re committed to making sure all our people keep learning throughout their time with us and offer a wide variety of classroom and online learning.
To be eligible for the 2025 Graduate Programme you must:
We recruit students and graduates who are intelligent and adaptable with excellent communication skills. They have degrees in many different disciplines. Even though good levels of numeracy are important for some roles, you won’t necessarily need a formal mathematical or financial background. Our comprehensive training programmes will give you all the technical knowledge you’ll need to build a career with us. Entrepreneurial people who thrive best in a diverse culture where innovation and agile thinking abound.
You should not only be passionate about the world of finance, but also show a keen interest in your chosen field. You already have a record of outstanding academic achievement and you’re eager to go on learning at the same intensive rate. So you’ll thrive on working in a highly collaborative environment with some of the best minds in banking. You’ll also be as motivated and ambitious as we are. Finally, because communication is key to everything we do –all our people need to be fluent in English (and, for some roles, at least one other language). Speaking German is not essential outside of Germany.
You must have graduated within the last 12 months in order to apply for our graduate programme. If you graduated more than 12 months ago then please consider applying for other direct entry opportunities at Deutsche Bank here.
Deutsche Bank works in partnership with our immigration providers to sponsor candidates who are eligible for work visas in most countries. As immigration rules vary from country to country, you are responsible for ensuring that you understand the eligibility to work criteria for the country in which you will commence work and complete all the necessary documentation within the appropriate time-frame given to you. Receipt of any relevant work visa is subject to approval by the appropriate authorities. Once you have been successful through Deutsche Bank's recruitment process and hired to start with us, our Immigration providers will reach out to you immediately to commence discussions regarding your immigration status including eligibility to work and appropriate work visa needed. All offers will be contingent on you obtaining proper work authorization.
Yes. It’s all about being proactive. Do your research thoroughly, and apply in plenty of time online. Although you may not have a chance to meet directly with us on campus, everyone has to submit their application online, so the recruitment process is the same for everyone.
Yes. Although we maintain relationships with certain universities where we actively market ourselves, all applications are considered carefully and treated fairly.
We aim to hire and develop people from local talent pools wherever possible. However, there are some exceptions. In some countries, we do accept international applications. For the latest details, check our site regularly, or ask your local Careers Office.
We’d like you to research carefully exactly what division you want to work in, and then apply to just one role in one country. If you’re open to other opportunities, our recruiting team may consider forwarding your application to a different area of Deutsche Bank, depending on how you progress through our selection process, as well as business needs.
In most instances, if you are unsuccessful for one role you cannot be considered for another in the same hiring year. This will also depend on why you haven’t been successful. You should bear in mind that the skills and profile required to be successful in one business will be very different to those needed in another. We would like you to be committed to a long-term career in the division you’ve applied for, rather than switching from one programme to another.
